Andermatt is a village in the canton of Uri in Switzerland. Together with Realp and Hospental, it lies in the valley of Urseren, 22km (14 miles) south of Altdorf. Andermatt is next to main national roads north-south and east-west, and is thus easily reached and with excellent links to the extensive public transport network. It takes about 90 minutes to get here from either Zurich or Lugano.

If you are coming by car, it is about 10 minutes’ drive to Andermatt after you exit the main motorway at Göschenen.
Visitors traveling by train take the hourly-running Gotthard express train to Göschenen. Here, after only a short waiting time, you change over to the narrow-gauge Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn for the 10-minute journey to Andermatt.
